Social
The union of Grupo IFA and the Gasol Foundation was born from the desire to promote healthy habits in Spanish society and thus improve the health of future generations. We will take part in launching prevention and awareness actions to help meet this challenge.
We are committed to territorial cohesion
Proximity is part of Grupo IFA’s identity and shapes the way in which we contribute to the development of the regions where we operate. Our distribution model ensures access to a local, high-quality range of food products throughout the country, contributing to territorial cohesion and the maintenance of essential services for thousands of citizens.
Currently, one in four Grupo IFA outlets is located in towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, and our network reaches 82 per cent of the Spanish population. This extensive reach enables us to play a significant role in rural areas and in less densely populated regions, where local shops are a key driver of economic and social activity. Furthermore, we continue to promote solutions such as Viacash, which enable cash withdrawals and deposits in-store, thereby promoting financial inclusion in towns where the number of bank branches has fallen significantly.
Promoting diverse and equal employment
One of Grupo IFA’s core pillars is contributing to economic and social growth. Creating new jobs and integrating more people into the workforce is our way of impacting the country’s development and strengthening the local economy.
In addition, our employment policy stands out for its commitment to diversity and equal opportunities. In 2023, 57% of the Group’s management positions were held by women, demonstrating a strong commitment to gender equality. We are also actively promoting diversity, employing people from over 85 nationalities.
A connecting agent in the territory
We are leaders in towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants. In fact, 1 in every 4 stores located in these towns belongs to Grupo IFA. Our reach and presence ensure that smaller populations have access to fresh, quality food.

Labor commitment
Grupo IFA is one of the largest employers at the national level. Our activity helps generate stable, quality jobs, with employee well-being as one of our top priorities.
Driving national employment
In 2025, all of our Affiliates together provided employment for more than 88,493 workers in Spain, keeping us in the top 3 companies that contribute most to job creation nationally.
Environment
At Grupo IFA, we are committed to social well-being and environmental protection. We implement actions aimed at reducing our emissions and minimizing environmental impact. In 2023, the Group’s Affiliates achieved a 16% reduction in Scope 1 emissions compared to the previous year.
Recognized for environmental protection and transparency
Since 2022, IFA Retail has been part of Lean&Green, a European Commission initiative to reduce supply chain emissions. Thanks to our efficient logistics platform, in 2023 we achieved the Lean&Green 2-star distinction, recognizing a 30% reduction in emissions related to logistics transport.
We are committed to ESG digitalization, with an ESG Digital Platform that allows us to monitor, track, and measure our carbon footprint (including Scope 3), ensuring compliance with European regulations and reaffirming our commitment to transparency and corporate responsibility.
As a result, in 2023, Oracle awarded us the Sustainability Award, highlighting our leadership in sustainability in Europe, especially in information reporting and carbon footprint reduction through the optimization of our transport fleet.
Making a contribution in all areas
As we do every year, we are once again taking part in Food Waste Awareness Week, organised by the AECOC Association of Manufacturers and Distributors.
At Grupo IFA, we work every day to reduce food waste throughout the supply chain, collaborating with organisations such as Too Good To Go and Phenix to save food and reduce our carbon footprint.
Furthermore, Grupo IFA’s members have achieved an 84 per cent recycling rate for waste, far exceeding the EU target of 55 per cent by 2025.
